The Tour in My Voice

The Northern Lights are magical on their own, but how you experience them matters. My chase is designed for travellers who want something real! Small groups, authentic stories, and the silence of true wilderness, not a crowded parking lot filled with busloads of tourists.

With only a handful of guests in a comfortable 4x4 7-seater Mercedes, we have the freedom to adapt, to follow the weather, and to go wherever the aurora leads. This flexibility gives us the very best chance of seeing the lights, and the intimacy of a small group means the night feels personal and unhurried.

Around the fire, I’ll share not just hot drinks and homemade food, but also stories, local insights, and the skills I’ve learned growing up in the Arctic. From survival techniques to cultural traditions, you’ll experience more than just the northern lights, you’ll get a glimpse into what it means to live here.

What makes this chase unique is the care, the space, and the atmosphere. It’s a night built on connection; to the land, to the sky, and to each other. You’ll return not only with photos of the aurora, but with memories of a night that felt truly yours.

Itinerary

Evening Pick-Up in Tromsø
Your guide collects you from your accommodation in a comfortable 7-seater 4×4 Mercedes. The best starting time is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Chase Begins
We drive to the best possible viewing spots based on live forecasts. This may mean staying close or venturing deep into fjords and valleys.

Aurora Watch & Campfire
Once we find a promising location with good skies, we hike a short distance to get away from the road, lights and other distractions, to enjoy the dark, quiet winter landscape. There we’ll set up a cosy campfire, share hot drinks, and enjoy a homemade bacalao dinner with fresh bread.

Photography & Stories
If the aurora appears, I’ll capture professional photos of you under the lights. When the sky is quiet, I’ll share Arctic stories, local history, and insights about the northern lights. If the weather changes, we will keep on chasing!

Flexible Return
Depending on conditions, we may change location during the night to improve our chances. After 6–8 hours, you’ll be returned to your hotel with memories to last a lifetime.
