Personal Northern Lights Expedition
Step into the Arctic night on a private Northern Lights chase far from crowds and city lights. Guided by a local expert, you’ll follow the aurora to the wildest corners of Tromsø, build a fire under the stars, and watch the sky come alive in complete silence, just for you.

The Tour in My Voice
The Northern Lights are not just a sight to be seen, they are an experience to be lived. And the way you experience them matters.
This is not a bus tour. There are no parking lots full of headlights, no crowded viewpoints or tourist chatter in the background. This is your night, your silence, your green fire in the stars. A private journey into the heart of Arctic wilderness, guided by someone who calls this place home.
We begin quietly, with a personal pickup in Tromsø in a comfortable 4×4 just you, your people, and me, your guide. I’ve spent my life navigating this landscape, reading the sky, and chasing the aurora through fjords, valleys, and hidden trails. Every night is different. That’s what makes it magical!
As we drive into the wild, we read the weather! Watching the clouds, chasing gaps in the sky and staying on top of the latest data about the solar activity. No fixed stops. No rigid routes. Just the flexibility and freedom to follow the aurora where it leads. That’s the beauty of travelling in a small private group: we can go further, adapt faster, and choose the moment over the plan.
Once we’ve found the perfect spot, far from light and sound, we’ll hike away from the road to set up camp. I’ll show you how to build a fire in the snow, with dry birch, bark and a spark. Around the flames, we’ll settle in with steaming bowls of traditional fish stew (vegetarian options available), rich berry juice or coffee, and homemade snacks.
And then… we wait.
There’s a sacred kind of stillness that happens under a clear Arctic sky. Maybe the lights arrive gently, like smoke. Maybe they explode in green ribbons that dance above the snow. However they appear, I’ll be there to capture it for you, both the lights and the look on your face when you first see them.
This experience isn’t about ticking a box. It’s about being part of the landscape. Listening to old stories. Asking questions. Laughing by the fire. And knowing that, for one night, the north was yours.
If the aurora fades or moves, we move too, tracking it across the sky, adjusting as the night unfolds. Our return to Tromsø is flexible, usually between 23:00 and 01:00, depending on the lights. But there’s no rush. It’s your night. I’ll send a full set of edited photos within 72 hours so the memory lives long after the moment.
