Good To Know
Winter hiking in the Arctic is a unique and rewarding experience, but it also requires preparation and a sense of adventure. The terrain can be snowy, uneven, and sometimes steep, which means a moderate to good level of fitness is important. Weather conditions change quickly in the mountains, and guests should be prepared for wind, cold, and shifting visibility. Warm wool layers, a hat, mittens, and sturdy winter shoes are essential to staying comfortable throughout the trip. We provide snowshoes, poles, and all necessary outdoor equipment, but it’s important to bring personal items such as thermal underwear and extra socks. While the pace of the hike is adjusted to the group, guests should expect to carry a backpack and walk several kilometers each day. With the right mindset, winter hiking offers incredible rewards: peaceful landscapes, fresh Arctic air, and the chance to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature.
