We intentionally keep our group sizes small to foster genuine connections and offer a truly personalized adventure. Much like a small classroom where every question matters, our intimate tours provide flexibility, deep engagement, and the chance for every guest to explore at their own pace.

Our team brings together a wealth of experience in diverse fields—from hunting, fishing, and farming to winter expeditions, sailing, kayaking, ski touring, free-diving, military training, and mountaineering. Even as experts, we remain lifelong learners, continually expanding our understanding of the natural world.
Safety is our highest priority. Every guide is rigorously trained in first aid, avalanche rescue, crisis management, and more. Our drivers complete government-certified crisis courses, and we equip our tours with satellite beacons connected directly to emergency services—ensuring a rapid response whenever needed.

Our Story
Rise Adventures was born from a mix of uncertainty, hard work, and an unwavering love for the Arctic wilderness.
I, Jørgen Rise, started this company when I was nineteen and working in a stone quarry. Fresh out of high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. But I was lucky, my boss at the quarry was incredibly supportive. He encouraged me to explore my interests and even helped me set up the company. It would be almost three more years before I welcomed my first guests. At the time, I was serving in the army, making it impossible to juggle both. Before I gained the confidence to start my own thing, I worked for other guide companies in Tromsø. That experience made me realize something important: I could deliver unique tours, offer deeper insight, and provide a higher-quality experience than the big mass tourism companies.
The biggest challenge was simply going for it. But at the end of the day, I didn’t have many other options… All my paths required hard work. And hard work has never scared me, as long as I can see the results and growth that come from it.

We want a workplace that never becomes a burden or an annoyance, a company where we can continue doing what we love for years to come.

Our goal isn’t just to impress visitors but to build relationships and hope for returning guests. We want to show you the real Arctic lifestyle as it exists today.
Growth & Development
Rise Adventures started with just me, a local guide in Tromsø. The next step is to bring in one or two more guides in the Tromsø area, though finding the right people is no easy task. Beyond that, I hope to partner with friends and family businesses in Northern Norway, working with local guides in their regions to offer even more unique adventures and create unforgettable travel packages.
My ultimate dream? To buy small farms, cabins, or houses where our guides can live and run their own tours for guests staying with them. This would be the ultimate experience! Letting travellers truly become part of daily life in the Arctic, with all the beauty and challenges that come with it.

We only hire local guides with deep experience in the Arctic outdoors. More importantly, we seek guides with a long-term vision for guiding or hospitality, people who see the value in delivering the absolute best every time.
Our philosophy for an authentic and meaningful experience is simple: Let guides control the details of the adventure. When guides do tours they genuinely love, they naturally give the best and most authentic experience possible. This approach is not only sustainable in the long run but also ensures our team keeps learning, exploring, and gathering new knowledge and stories to share with you.

The reason we started this company and do what we do is to keep nature in our lives, keep our passion alive, and stay happy.
We believe in sharing this passion, our knowledge, and the changes we see happening in the Arctic with the world. The more people understand the more they will want to protect it.
Our philosophy is simple
Do what we love. Because we love what we do and where we live, protecting this environment comes naturally. We don’t believe in fast-paced, checklist tourism. Instead, we focus on slow travel, longer, more unique tours where we have time to connect, share ideas, and create meaningful moments and relationships.
